We are just emerging from our winter hibernation, although, at the moment, there is still snow around. We have had a lovely break, including spending some time in Spain. As you can see in the picture above (taken in Madrid) we had beautiful sunshine but it was pretty cold.
We are getting ready to open at half term (18th -26th February) and are just putting the coffee shop back together again after its regular winter deep cleaning.
No matter how thorough we are, the operation is not as major as the one on Grosmont's favourite steam loco "Sir Nigel Gresley". Bill took this picture of Sir Nigel in the workshops at the National Railway Museum in York. The green piece you can see is the chassis of the engine with the cab just visible at the back right of the picture. Quite a job.
While grabbing a coffee at the NRM, Bill saw this engine which looks as if it comes with its own built-in espresso machine. Not a bad idea given the quality of coffee usually served on British trains.
Our son, Will (aka Gecko) gave us a preview of his show which he is currently touring. We set up a performance space in the coffee shop using the staging we bought from Stage Systems .
We aim to use the staging for occasional events (indoor and outdoor) at the coffee shop.
